About
I'm Jo, your Brand Navigator
Through strategy, storytelling, and design, I help small businesses find their true north and build brands that feel authentic, joyful, and human.
Because you don’t need to fit a mould — you just need a map.
You’ve found the designer who gets it.
I don’t chase trends. I chart true north.
I help real businesses build strong, human brands that can weather any sea.

Customer ServiceIn the beginning...
Brand Treasure Map began in the fluorescent glow of corporate corridors, where I saw something remarkable: potential. Brilliant, capable people pouring their energy into systems that dimmed their light. Creativity buried under policy. Passion stifled by spreadsheets.
It wasn’t the people that were broken — it was the way they were being asked to work.
So, I set out to build something different. Something human.
I believe...
Strategy first, always.
We collaborate, not dictate.
The best ideas are often the simplest.

We run a tight ship — Olly insists on it.
Because fulfillment is the best ROI there is.
I'm not here to make you sound like everyone else.
I’m here to help you rediscover that spark — to uncover the brand beneath the barnacles and bring it to life with clarity, confidence, and a dash of pirate magic.
Because when people feel seen, supported, and inspired, they don’t just do better work — they make a better world.
Let the adventure begin!
What matters to you?
The Process
Clear Communication
I’ll get to know you. I’ll take the time to investigate your needs and come up with a strategy to get you the best result. We’ll work together as a team. I won’t blindly give you what you ask for if I know it’s going to hurt you in the long run. Better design. Better businesses. Better communities.
Once we’ve worked out the basics of your project, I’ll put it together in a clear, easy-to-understand agreement. That way there’s no confusion – you’ll know exactly what to expect.
Research and Analysis
Research leads to results. When something is tried and tested, it has a far better chance of success. Before creating a design, we make sure we know who the audience is, what they like, the environment in which the design will be placed, and what’s worked in the past.
Quality of thinking is what makes a great design. Each element, and the relationship between each element is strategic. The analytical mind takes the viewer on a journey through design and entices them to take action.
Follow-up and Support
You’re not alone. I make sure I’m as accessible as possible to answer any questions. I’ve also got a handy Resources section with answers to many common questions on this website. I’ll do my best to make sure your beautiful new look is working for you.
I’ll provide you with everything you need to use your designs properly. Whether it’s properly-prepared print files, logo file guides, or Q&As and FAQs, I’m here to help you get the most out of your design package even after the project has finished.
We’re not the kind of pirates who plunder. We’re the kind who build, earn, and explore.
We chart maps. We build ships. We sail beside you.
Every Captain has their own sea to sail.
That’s why we blend strategic clarity, joyful visuals, and a dash of pirate magic — so you can sail your brand with confidence, your way.
If your compass has been spinning… you’re in the right harbour.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is brand strategy?
The smartest brands don’t drift — they navigate.
Think of brand strategy as your treasure map. It helps you figure out where you’re going, what makes you different, and how to stand out from the sea of other businesses.
It’s not just about logos and colours (though we get to that too) — it’s about uncovering your brand’s personality, message, and purpose, so everything you say and show feels clear, confident, and you.
With a solid strategy, you stop second-guessing and start sailing in the right direction — attracting the right customers, building trust, and growing your business with intention (not just luck and duct tape).
No more drifting. No more guessing. Just a well-marked course and the tools to help you stay on it.
What is brand design?
Raise your sails. Show the world who you are.
Brand design is how your business looks and feels — like the sails and flag on your ship. It includes your logo, colours, fonts, imagery, and overall style that customers see and remember.
But it’s not just about looking pretty. Great brand design helps people recognise you, trust you, and feel something when they interact with your business. It’s visual storytelling — showing the world who you are without saying a word.
With strong, consistent design, your brand becomes instantly recognisable and leaves a lasting impression. It helps you stand out in a crowded market, attract your ideal customers, and sail ahead with confidence.
In short? It’s what makes your brand unforgettable — in all the right ways.
What is brand maintenance?
Set sail with strategy. Arrive with impact.
Brand maintenance is all about keeping your brand shipshape — long after launch.
It’s ongoing support with graphic design, social media, and marketing to make sure your brand stays consistent, polished, and on-course. No more drifting off-brand or scrambling for last-minute posts — just regular, reliable creative support that keeps your business looking and sounding like you.
It also keeps your customers’ eyes on your ship — not the one sailing past.
By staying visually and strategically consistent, your brand becomes easier to recognise, trust, and connect with. That means more engagement, more loyalty, and a brand presence that truly reflects your vision.
Whether it’s creating new assets, managing your content, or making sure everything matches your original vibe, brand maintenance helps your brand stay strong, steady, and ready for whatever seas lie ahead.
What if I just want a logo?
Design without direction? Not on this ship.
A logo without strategy is like setting sail without a map — you might get lucky, but odds are you’ll end up off course.
Designing a “nice-looking” logo without understanding your audience, your position in the market, and the feeling you want to evoke is risky business. A good logo isn’t about personal taste — it’s about resonance. It should mean something to your customers. It should speak to who you are, what you stand for, and where you’re going.
Whether your brand is bold and rebellious, refined and disruptive, or steady and soulful — the design should reflect that. And to do that well, we need direction.
That’s why I don’t offer “just a logo.” Because without brand strategy, logo design is just guesswork dressed up in pretty fonts.
If strategy isn’t in your budget just yet, I recommend exploring pre-made brand kits or hiring a freelance designer on sites like Fiverr or Upwork. But if you’re ready to build something that lasts — something with meaning, message, and momentum — let’s chart a proper course.
